How couples in Springfield are save money without sacrificing style.

How couples in Springfield are saving money without sacrificing style.

You can absolutely plan a beautiful, stylish wedding without overspending—it just takes some smart choices and prioritizing what truly matters to you. Here are budget-friendly strategies that don’t compromise on style:

 Step 1: Prioritize & Focus

Pick your top 3 must-haves (ex: photography, food, live music). Spend most of your budget there.

Be flexible with the rest—guests will remember the overall vibe, not every tiny detail.

 Venue & Decor

Choose an off-peak date or day At the PBC Venue, our peak price day is on Saturday. Both Friday and Sunday are more affordable, along with the months Jan-March.

Opt for naturally beautiful spaces (gardens, parks, lofts) that need minimal décor.

Repurpose décor—ceremony flowers can become reception centerpieces! We always recommend using the bridesmaid’s flowers as centerpieces!

DIY touches like signage, table numbers, or photo displays add personality and save money. Plus, at our venue, we have mirrors that you can Cricut your name right onto and save money!

Décor At the PBC Venue, we allow couples to go through the share closet and use our professional props and decorations! 90% of the decorations are at no charge, but some have a small rental fee attached to them.

Food & Drink

Buffet, family-style, or food stations can be cheaper and more fun than plated dinners, for sure!

Limit bar options—Pole Barn Chic has a minimum on the bar, if you choose to have alcohol at your wedding. You can decide what your minimum goes towards: offer beer, wine, and a signature cocktail instead of a full open bar.

Cut the cake cost—serve a small decorated cake for display and sheet cake in the back for guests! This is so important if you’re looking to save money!

 Fashion & Beauty

Shop sample sales, consignment, or online bridal outlets (you can save 50–70%).

Bridesmaids in mix-and-match dresses (they choose their own within a color palette).

Hair & makeup—hire a talented freelancer instead of a big-name salon.

 Photography & Entertainment

Hire newer professionals who are building their portfolio—they can be amazing and less expensive. PBC works with several photographers, and their budget is all over the board.

DIY playlists for cocktail hour or late-night dancing if you want to cut DJ hours. Yes, this suggestion is on the list, however. I highly suggest against it. A wedding without a DJ is just a get together.  A DIY playlist at a wedding is never, ever a good idea. For multiple reasons.

 Stationery & Extras

Go digital for save-the-dates or RSVPs (eco-friendly and budget-friendly).

Minimal favors—guests often leave them behind. Instead, invest in something memorable like late-night snacks or a photo booth. The guests LOVE it!

Rent instead of buy…..anytime you can!
